Leonie had a childhood filled with a menagerie of animals & a love of the outdoors. She spent 4 years studying National Diploma's, one in Animal Care & another in Countryside Management. She has had an array of working roles within the animal industry, having worked in a vets; farms both here & in Australia, a pet shop, a wildlife centre and cattery & kennels. Growing up she has kept a varied range of pets to love & learn about, but at the moment, her home is full enough with a toddler & young dog. Her daughter was born late 2021, and after roughly 6 months off the business was up & running again, albeit a little slower... She now enjoys working part-time alongside Sam (read more below) and continues to manage Trotting Dogs. Its hard work - but seeing those gorgeous, happy pooches makes it all so worth it!

After raising her wonderful family, Sam spent 9 years working in a veterinary practice; assisting the team & caring for a variety of pets. Unfortunately Covid impacted the practise & Sam moved on. She found a lovely job within a local tearoom at a farm, and still works part time there now.
Sam joined Trotting Dogs in March 2022, when the business re-opened post-maternity, and the ladies work together to maintain high standards of care. Like Leonie, she also has an energetic young dog who joins the pooches on the walks, and 4 cats (...who stay at home). Sam has a wide array of knowledge about our furry friends & a love of dogs (of course!) which shines through even on the rainiest of days.

The business itself has been established since 2007, Leonie took over as its 3rd owner in 2018. Now both ladies bring their extensive knowledge & un-deniable passion for animals, enabling Trotting Dogs to continue to adapt & thrive within an ever-changing industry. They believe animals are an invaluable part of the family. Walking is good for the soul, but spending it with the doggo's too is an integral part of the week!
